  1. Nice one Al. The conditions were A1. We were in two minds whether to have a look offshore or not. Fingers crossed next weekend will be OK - we'll give it a bash then. Good to see a few summer cod around!
  2. Me too Just now leaving for the slipway for the start at 5pm. If anyone wants to log in for the comp and / or report a catch to me or Bob it would be better if you could phone it through on: Adam Franklin - 07957 829902 Bob Fuller - 07802 879073 Failing that you can email, but it will be late Sunday before we get them. Finally if all else fails call another of the committe to pass it on. Good luck everyone! Adam
  3. You would be suprised Kam - I have had many rays of the ledge on horendously rocky ground - 3 years ago in the May bream comp I had a small eye equaling the club record on bream gear!
  4. Les, Thats fine. Have a good weekend and see you Sunday. That brings to tally to 15 anglers. We had 35 last year and we have 20% extra members this year! Come on you lot - with weather like they have forecast this weekend we were expecting (and have food for!) over 50! Adam
  5. My guess goes to a ray or maybe a bull huss. I have had both fairly frequently whilst breaming on the ledge. We will never know kam!
  6. Superb report Kam - nice one. Sounds like a fantastic place. Where's the next destination?
  7. So far I have the following names: Adam Franklin Bob Fuller Mark Bessant Rich Swain James Parker Martin Burt Dean Burt Duncan Mackie Dave Rowell Gordon Holt Paul Jennings Paul Dore Crazy Fred Please post here or let bob or I know if you are fishing and not on the list. The weather is still looking A1 - so get out there!
  8. PJ, Hard to tell without seeing it....it sounds like the spacer is not on or working correctly, obviously the prop is grabbing the nut when it rotated and it's thread is acting with a cutting action. I would take it back to PR next week....in the meantime their is a spare prop same as yours here if you want to borrow it. Adam
  9. What are peeps thinking of doing for next weekend then? Forecast is for light northerlies and sun! I'm thinking 1.) All nigher somewhere 2.) Ripps? Where are the others thinking of?
  10. As Charlie has said - this post has been hijacked already!!!! Bob and I havent yet had anyone book in for next weekend - remember if you arnt booked in, we dont know you are fishing! Post here or call us: Adam Franklin - 07957 829902 Bob Fuller - 07802 879073 Cheers Adam PS: The weather is looking A1 at the moment!!!
  11. Happy Birthday matey. All the best and have a great day. Cheers Adam
  12. Due to my father's 50th birthday celebrations, it is unlikey Rach and I wil be attending. Really sorry guys - I would have loved to have come as we both enjoyed it so much last year, but this obviously takes priority. Have a great time and Ill make sure Im their for the next one. Adam
  13. Yes it is - a problem I feel?
  14. Mark - we saw you. Wasnt too sure if it was you or not, couldnt see the boat name. Will come over next time!
  15. Spot on Martin. Weather isnt looking fantastic - Ill be guided by Peter and Charlie whether we fish or not. Bream will be the target for the Burnham guys.
  16. Sorry Jimbo - its a no go for me - work commitments. Shame would have loved to have come.
  17. I commented to PD that when Jimbo and I started fishing this mark 4 years ago that we seldon saw many other boat on there! How different on Sunday - I couldnt even find a spot to drop anchor! With all that commotion I decided to play my other secret card and try another mark I had, but not fished for a few years. It worked all right and proved to be a good plan instead of being a sheep. Rach and I caught Bream, Pout, Wrasse and pollock steadily throughout the 3 hours we fished before the dreaded 'mal de mar' took hold of rach. We spent the afternoon bashing schoolies on spinners in the harbour. Surprize of the afternoon was 2 bull huss taken on bream tackle - the best went juts over 5lb! Adam
  18. Give me fat fresh bacon, wild boar sausages and fried eggs wrapped in a bap anyway - all washed down with a mug of tea!
  19. This is a combined event this year - the PBSBAC Bream comp and the Burnham to Poole leg of the comp on the same day. You are of course free to fish the bream comp anywhere in club waters within the usual rules, but if you wish to boost the numbers and combine the two events you will need to be at Baiter Slipway for booking in at 8am. The bream comp is free, but
  20. Skin drain fittings come fron chandlers, the drain tap from homebrew shops. Sorry for the short reply - pretty hectic at the moment!
  21. RESULT! Picked up Paul D who kindly offered to help - at Wick, 10.30am - by 11am we were drifting the ledge and by 12 we had 50 plump fresh macky in the cooler iced down - we were back on the slip by 12.30 and home for 1pm! All ready to feed them to the hungry turbies in the CI's!!
  22. Just on my way out now - aim is to bag 50 or so decent macky for this week. Ill let you all know how I get on!
  23. Have a good one chaps! All the best - Adam
  24. Just a thought for those going on the trip....we dont have any macky? The usual plan is to get a few on the way out, but as the wind looks to be building through the morning we may wizz straight over. Options: 1.) We could buy frozen, a few packs each would be a start or.. 2.) I could try and get out tommorow for a box of fresh ones - weather and wind dependant. Anyone else going out - donations gratefully recieved! Adam
  25. Its holding as you state above Tom. All of the forecasts I can see are giving Weds - Friday pretty nice, just windy on Tues. Worst I have seen is XC weather - usually pretty good as takes its readings from the channel light vessel - F5 midday on Tues. I think maybe an early start to break the back of it and then fish the deeps, leaving only a short run into Braye should it turn bad? Getting excited now - however its the worst time as we watch the forecasts update hour on hour. Worst still I cant go out tommorow to take my mind off it! Adam
