No Jimbo - unusally for a change - I have too as well! Gutted to have such a busy week when the weather is this good - multiple catches of cod, double figure bass and trips to Alderney all missed!!

When he approached I was the stand on - the picture shows me having moved. But as Simon says - might is right. The crew could even be clearly seen on the bridge and the boat was empty of containers... On the way back Mon eve travelling at 20 knots + back into Christchurch I saw 2 marine personell carriers heading east across the ledge from Poole...the two crew commented that they we on a collision course - they were much bigger (40'+) and doing a similar speed - I calmly (??) commented that I was the stand on vessel and that they would move - the crew didnt seem convinced, but sure enough when the second vessel was sure it was too close he altered course by 20 odd degs. this was my first experinace of holding a course having only learnt the rules from CC on our Alderney trip and it was good to see them observed for once.

Sorry Crazy - would have loved too but work a little hectic. Could maybe do next week or even better the weekend of 17/18th? Adam

Nice one Al. The conditions were A1. We were in two minds whether to have a look offshore or not. Fingers crossed next weekend will be OK - we'll give it a bash then. Good to see a few summer cod around!

You would be suprised Kam - I have had many rays of the ledge on horendously rocky ground - 3 years ago in the May bream comp I had a small eye equaling the club record on bream gear!

My guess goes to a ray or maybe a bull huss. I have had both fairly frequently whilst breaming on the ledge. We will never know kam!

PJ, Hard to tell without seeing it....it sounds like the spacer is not on or working correctly, obviously the prop is grabbing the nut when it rotated and it's thread is acting with a cutting action. I would take it back to PR next week....in the meantime their is a spare prop same as yours here if you want to borrow it. Adam

I commented to PD that when Jimbo and I started fishing this mark 4 years ago that we seldon saw many other boat on there! How different on Sunday - I couldnt even find a spot to drop anchor! With all that commotion I decided to play my other secret card and try another mark I had, but not fished for a few years. It worked all right and proved to be a good plan instead of being a sheep. Rach and I caught Bream, Pout, Wrasse and pollock steadily throughout the 3 hours we fished before the dreaded 'mal de mar' took hold of rach. We spent the afternoon bashing schoolies on spinners in the harbour. Surprize of the afternoon was 2 bull huss taken on bream tackle - the best went juts over 5lb! Adam

Give me fat fresh bacon, wild boar sausages and fried eggs wrapped in a bap anyway - all washed down with a mug of tea!

This is a combined event this year - the PBSBAC Bream comp and the Burnham to Poole leg of the comp on the same day. You are of course free to fish the bream comp anywhere in club waters within the usual rules, but if you wish to boost the numbers and combine the two events you will need to be at Baiter Slipway for booking in at 8am. The bream comp is free, but

RESULT! Picked up Paul D who kindly offered to help - at Wick, 10.30am - by 11am we were drifting the ledge and by 12 we had 50 plump fresh macky in the cooler iced down - we were back on the slip by 12.30 and home for 1pm! All ready to feed them to the hungry turbies in the CI's!!
