  6. Just re-reading this old thread - my uncle just called me to see what we pay for a set of trailer wheel bearings as he has just replaced a set for a customer and wanted to know the going rate.... ....anyway - if anyone needs any replacement bearings - Henderson Bearings, Crow Arch Lane, Ringwood. He has just replaced a set for
  7. Anyone planning much this weekend? It will be my last trip until mid-march as my PADI course will take up the next few weeks amongst other things - forecast is looking good...at the moment? Thinking of either a general inshore trip hoping a few whiting are still around, or another wrecking trip for eels??

Looks great Paul - I agree with Bob - suits Neo well. Bet you cant wait to crank her up! - Youll notice one hell of a differance!! Hope it lives up to all expectations - BTW - how do you know you have the right prop?? I had to change BW's twice before I got the right set up, as the factory one was too large and under pitched. Adam
  9. To our estimed Chairman... HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY!!! May 2006 be a very fishy one! Adam

Gordon, Yes it is - its actually quite a decent slip - fairly steep. On a big srping the slip ends and turns to gravel - but it is a seamless transition - I have launched BW their with an Astra loads of times - just watch out for the deep hole on the RHS (Looking at the slip) - ask Paul D.....

  13. Charlie, All above comments are valid and good advice. IMHO this forum is the best resource going - I cant think of a question we have failed to answer yet.... I buy Boat Fishing Monthly, every month (funny that! ) and it has a good balance of fishing, boating tips etc.. ...and the PBSBAC crew regulary feature! Adam

    Keel Shoe?

Guys I need a few bright ideas... Having given up on the idea of a SS keelband, (as the keel on the 165 changes shape along its length from 2" to 1/2") and the fact that whenever I touch the bottom at Xchurch the scrapes happen up the sides of the keel as well - I now like the idea of having a keel shoe. I have toyed with the idea of a plastic / acrylic / nylon shoe which would be easy to tool and easy to bend and fit (sikaflex), would be malable to knocks and bumps and cheap - but cant think of exactly what material to use? Any other idea welcome?? Adam
  15. The first Trail-away of the year is now planned and in place. It will be a repeat of the hugely succesful Burnham trip in 2005. Date: Sunday 12th March 2006 Venue: Burnham on Sea, Somerset Itinery: - Meet at Tesco car park in Blandford 5-5.30am - Convoy trip to B-o-S - Park boats and breakfast on seafront - Rig boats and book in ready for off at 8.00am - Return to shore 3-5pm for weigh in - 4-6pm return home We had 5 boats last year and I would like to make this at least 10 this year. The fishing was superb as was the hospitality of the guys from Burnham. If you have a moored boat and still want to fish let me know, Ill find you a crew spot. The fishing is basically uptiding in 20-30' of coffee coloured water for codling, rays, conger and bass. To get things going now, lets start a list of names: BW + crew
  16. ...how do I create an album? Maybe it would be a good idea if someone could put together a bullet point user guide to show the first time user how it works?
  17. Got another stage further using a file each each box, but still cant upload them - great feature but needs to be easier to use/
  18. Been trying to Paul, but it says they have uploaded and to click 'here' to add to album, when I do this it says HTTP500 internal error??
  19. Nice on Al, you did well to get out, and a good catch report to boot. I was tempted but the icy wind and the way my 'wind tree' was bending in the garden put paid to that - decided BW could do with a good polish instead, so shes gleaming again now. As you say, the long range looks good for next weekend however I fear that the dulldrums of Feb and Early march are nearly here!

    Near Miss.

Sounds a good plan Jack - if it were me I think I would replace it - from memory it is just plate SS? If you go for a nice long forged jobbie - 1.) it will be alot tougher and 2.) If you get it right you could have the anchor self stowing on the roller? Then no need to replace the pin.
  21. I completely agree 100% with the posts above (Mike and Duncan) however at the risk of recievng a baracking and purely playing devils advocate to understand the situation.... What happens to the whole commercial fishing industry, jobs and the picture of the situation to the non-angler when a 5 year complete ban, or huge non-fishing zones are implimented? I appreciate this is a hugely emotional and political subject - just wondered your comments on this?

Poole Quay is your best bet. You could launch at Cobbs, Mitchells or Rockley - all of these have mooring pontoons alongside - much more family friendly, but you pay for it. At Christchurch Wick has a wall at high water, but nothing at LW, and Mudeford also has a small wall, but only on HW. Or buy them all waders! - and take a photo!
  24. "For christsake Andy - why do you keep taking us to these weird fishing spots - cant we fish Poole Bay like the rest of the club?!"
  25. Jack to Andy: "I never knew you had Saturn on your plotter....have we got enough diesel to get home?"
