  1. Day 3 An early start at 9:00. We were off to the big sea the captain said. Weather is inch perfect, hardly and wind and even though much of the ground is still covered by the snow, it was warm enough for me to wear nothing but a pair of short on the patio for my breakfast, strange or what? Again the catch today is more quantity rather than quality. Pretty much same as day 1, except we boated 1 large haddock 7.5 lb, skipper commented it
  2. A quick dinner with cod and torsk fillets with roasted spuds and a quick game of card. We were out on our little tin can by 10:30pm. We ventured a little further out to grounds where C K and Henry caught red fish, halibut and cod to 35lb last year. Mainly into smaller stuff in the lower double figure but never the less fun on 12 lb class tackles. Again no red fish, no wolf fish, no halibuts.
  3. Day 2 Pendlar- our 40 feet wooden fishing vessel for the next 6 days is ready inside the harbour for our 1st day fishing. Target species include cod, coalfish, haddock, wolf fish, torsk, red fish and the elusive halibut. As the ship slowly motored out of the harbour, Dave Lewis, said he would check our gear (30 lb class tackles) if we wish, stating he had seen many fish got away because knot didn
  4. it takes 3 minutes and we were in more than 30 metres of water. We used feathers and pirks, catching cods and coallies. We fished for about an hour, kept 4 large coallies and grilled it for tea. We finally went to bed at around 3:00am. I was told about the 24 hours daylight, I expected the 24 hours daylight, but I was totally taken back when faced with it. I looked outside, I see light but when I looked at the watch it says 11:45 pm. Sunset at around 11:00pm and sunrise is about 1:00 am. What a fabulous experience.
  5. Our home for the next 7 days is a small wooden cabin, with every home comfort inc dishwasher. We unpacked our bags, set up the rods we will be using. Ole- the resort manager handed out the key to our small aluminium fishing boat. We were hungry and didn

Not sure what you meant? Surely if you have a blank boat, you can put whatever you want inside the cabin, it's like starting with a blank piece of paper, just draw away.
  8. I was out with Tomcat on the ledge On Tuesday and boating a couple of 3 lb +, a lady caught a 3 lb 12oz lovely colour.
  9. Well, I'm just a little concern about what you gonna do to have him gagging .....

  14. The missus is taking the kids to her folks in Scotland, so can't get away from the shop. but she fly back on Sunday, so Paul, if you can't find crew I will be able to crew on Sunday.
  15. I brought back some wolf fish fillets, lovely fish to eat. You are not allowed to bring anything meat, nuts, honey, etc etc from outside the eec. Since Norway is part of the EEC (but not the EU) you are allowed to bring back (almost) anything. Since Norway isn't part of the EU, you can buy 200 ciggie over and 200 back, you'll need to, cos a packet of fags costs over

  25. What gets me is that Mike 'recommends' them, stating he has customers going to Norway year after year and has never have any problems with them. He's either lying or his customers are as crap as I'm at catching big fish.
