:crazy: Anyone out there fishing the Poole Species comp on Friday? Weather looks ok and this is a great comp. Got a great boat as well, Random Harvest with Andy, should be a great crack. How is the fishing there at the moment, anyone know.

They are very effective when the tide is slow or nil, but when there is a tide run it tends to pull the fish away. Much better to have a solid cage and get a slow release. This brings the fish to you.

Nice one chaps, no fishing this weekend coz we have visitors. BBQ,s and drinking all weekend, bummer.

The problem with these fish are that they are almost pure muscle. There are many stories of broken limbs and other injuries from big halibut in boats. I am not condoning the spear and float method but be aware . BB

And a cracking comp to boot, very well organised. Prize giving at Marina club with grub laid on, curry and chilli last year. All four of your team fish against one other team on the same boat. This means you can each target a different species. Did you not put in a team last year Neal? See ya there. BB

Be nice if all those mentioned fished it. The problem with your comps lads is that all except for one have fallen on our comp dates. The one that didnt was cancelled. Also, Mark and Rich no longer have a boat so fishing your end would be difficult. I used to go with Jaz but not heard from him for a while. You still about mate? Only got a year of mortgage left so look out then, plenty of fishing coming after that. Sammy is still really keen, and when I say keen???? Almost every night that I am free he wants to go.
