  1. To be honest, my son and I enjoyed it very much. OK so RB isnt a natural born angler/presenter, but that boyish enthusiasm was great to watch. Tied in with a bit of native stuff it was quite refreshing, bones and all. I know that some of you lads have travelled the world and seen some of this stuff first hand, so know the score. I like watching stuff that is out of reach for me for a few more years. When the kids grow up, look out world, I,m coming at ya. Regards, BB
  2. I agree in principle with the idea of banning the bigger boys, but in Weymouth, there are 5-6 smaller boats that fish around the breakwaters and in the bay. These are individuals that fish in a perfectly sustainable way. There is no way these smaller boats can take their prawn pots, crab pots and small trammels more than a mile out. Perhaps we could rephrase to say boats over say 7mtrs. I hope you can see that point of view lads. Regards, BB

  8. We fished our monthly boat, bit sloppy at times but well fishable under the lee of Portland. Plenty of Bream to 2.5lbs, Bull Huss, Gurnards, Pout, Loads of Wrasse, Doggies, Smoothhounds etc. I won the boat with 278 points, Dave second with 206. Sam came fifth with 166. Not a bad day considering the weather. Regards, BB.
  9. Shame. Sammy and I fished, good day by both of us. Repoprt later. BB

  12. Spiffing report Rich, a touch of the Enid Blytons there mate. Five go wild at Hengistbury Head. Could be a classic. BB
  13. Martin, I used to use that knot but I found that using light flouro leaders and the knot slipped. Havn,t tried it with the braid doubled though. Never had the Sig knot fail but each to their own. BB
  14. Thanks duncan. BB
  15. Find the knot at http://www.japantackle.com/sig_knot.htm This is where you will find it mate. Also called the SIG knot. Instead of a bimini to make the loop, I just use a three turn spider hitch. Much easier and just as strong because the loops in the Sig knot take the bulk of the pressure on the line. Takes 30 secs to tie. Regards, BB Sorry but I dont know how to put a link on site so you will have to copy the site address
  16. Yozurri for heavier tackle and J knot for ordinary stuff. Never had a problem with either and both a doddle to tie. BB
  17. Mike, You will find that they are more common than people believe. As you have correctly said, most people think they are Ballan, or more often, Corkwing. We caught 5 yesterday on Strongbow. The more difficult species is the Rock Cook. This is almost identical to the Goldsinny, but has a black bar at the tail root. Sometimes this bar is very faint so making recognition very difficult. We have now changed some species comps to Ballan, Cuckoo, Corkwing and others. This stops I.D. problems. The same with Blennies and Gobies. The Poole Species comp is my highlight of the angling year, great comp. Nice to see a PBSBAC entering. How did you do? Regards, Billy
  18. Best of Luck tomorrow lads to all those fishing the Species comp. Look forward to having a beer after. BB PS. I,ll be the one in the stupid trousers.
  19. Excellant.

  21. Many Happy Returns of the Day. Have a good one. BB
  22. How about that for a Cup Final. Tha mighty REDS march on but what a great game. Chelsea realy took it to us second half and were unlucky a couple of times. That is what makes it a great game. Shame the national side needs a bit of a kick up the a**e. BB
  23. Excited already mate. Rearranged comp tonight. Fished Durdle Dor. 8 Bream, 6 doggies and 4 Pout. 115 Points. Dave second with 7 species for 85 points. Not a great night but nice to be out. All bream on size 8 sakuma mini mantas. Couldn,t hook a fish on larger hooks, strange. I think they have been hammered and are very tentative at the moment.BB
