We have a list of B&Bs for competitors at the Club, if you want it let me know I doubt any would have space for the boats trailers although the ones in Orchard ave may be able to park them on the road. Text me if that is any use Charlie

They are available. I know Matt G had one on Bliss two. He used it in deep water for the times when you need to wind in without a fish on. or to help when needed. It allowed him to fish and ignore his disability. Charlie

Luck may have played a part in getting such a fish on your hook in that venue, but landing it takes skill Skills learnt whilst using light tackle. Probably from what I have read on your reports these were learnt in fresh water. Great fish, well done Dan Charlie

Hi Rob A wilson flyer is a very good boat to start with, a very stable platform at rest and quick enough to get about the marks [i had one for many years, that i gutted and refitted] Best option to view what electronics are available is to try and get along to the Southampton boat show next month, all models will be on view in the tent with the experts on hand to talk you through the options. Personally My last two boats have used Lowrance equipment, but others are fans of Garmin, Raymarine and other makes. For safety reasons, a VHF is a must and you are sensible in going for a fixed set. then a GPS and fishfinder. There are some good combined units around. I use one on Alfresco. On the training front, as well as the VHF course, I would recomend starting with an RYA level 2 course, its more hands on for planning boats than a day skippers course. Have fun Charlie

We have a week off from work and were hoping to get away, although Wendy and I had a night on the boat yesterday the rest of the week does not look good enough to get away again. On thursday there seems to be a lull, but the rain later has put Wendy off. So Dan Will and I are hoping to get out fishing to make use of the small tides. Has anyone got the day off? and fancy joining us Probably a wreck trip, and could be damp at the end of the day. If so let me know. Charlie

What no offshore on the list I have no regrets about mine, she has the speed, endurance and comfort that we wanted when we picked which boat to build. Seriously I believe Tomo has a cheetah on order as a move from the pirate 21 so he would be a good man to talk too. and of course pick Tom's brains, he is now an arvor dealer but has a very broad knowledge of most fishing boats and multi hulls Happy hunting Charlie

Hi Mike It is up to you if you are happy to put phone Numbers on the forum I sometimes add my mobile to a post, but not my home No. Regards getting afloat, best idea is keep an eye on the forums, all of us ask at some time to see who is up for a trip. My advice there is take it easy at first and build up experiance and some sea legs. with a few inshore trips in decent weather. jumping in to a 12 hr wrecking/rips trip may be a bit too much. Dan and I popped out after work last night First plan to the banks for some bait, no problem unlike the Bass fisherman we had plenty It was Slack HW so we anchored for the ebb, we had a small spotted and two small blondes at the start of the tide, then unusually as the tide increased the dogfish arrived. Very hungry and persistant they were too we moved to another area, only to get some small tope and more dogs It was a lovely evening to be out, in shorts and T shirts. We managed a few of the target species shame it was the small ones. Just before dark we decided to leave the kennels and head home Charlie
