Lanyards go on before the baits go over Rob, but as you say we are not fishing for blues. When are you going West?
-
So the answer is no then. The charter boats do not even like the bolt on Stainless ones, they insist that theirs are welded to the boats rails. Dave and I regularly tighten ours up and all rods are fitted with rope lanyards

That's great news Mal.

That's Brilliant Jim. Thanks mate.

No panic Jim If you can it will be a bonus, and much appreciated

Hi Graham If this is not urgent I would suggest a trip to next months boat show. The various makes will be on the stands with simulated images. There are always show offers available. I personaly have avoide touch screens on a rocking boat. But recent use of a tablet to get relief shading does not seem to be an issue. After using relief shading or the.even better cmap version I would say that is a massive plus/must have. If I was upgrading. Getting it on a plotter gives much better vision and usability. Not sure if you are a fan of John on fishlocker youtube. But the kit he uses seems very good.

Brilliant Jim Well done.

100% agree with Graham Unless you can afford to keep replacing anchors Some cable ties online seem to have a strength rating. choose larger and stronger ones. I use three of a size that I can just get tree through the chain link.

Brlliant report Martin.. Thanks

Dramatic change Jim. It really does alter the mood, to change the audio track. What are the rules about copyright? obviously Meatloaf is not going to be chasing you. Is it right that if you copy audio from another you tube video, it is OK to use it? Or what source can you use legally?

Tight lines martin I will be at work, looking forward to hearing how it goes. Be careful around Peveril ledge when the tide is flowing [Especially on Ebb] it kicks up some mean overfalls. Most bird action around there seems to be at the slacker parts of the tide. -
That is very definately true Steve. As we used to say in the Navy, Its all about "Sea Time" Probably why Dan no longer seems to suffer.

Hi Greg You may have hit on something When we left for Alderney at the start of the first heatwave in May, Holes Bay was as usual. When we returned 4 days later in the heat, the water in Holes Bay was coloured green and the mudflats were covered in very green weed. What a change in 4 days. Eventually it passes through the harbour. I hate to think what the Solent must be like.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated, as was your call Chris.

A couple of weeks back i had an issue starting the boat. I thought it was sorted after i found a loose connector. Next timeout same problem Lots of research and things tried. With no luck Time for a Volvo engineer and Vodia software. Diagnosed a dead Powertrain Control Unit. Eek. We took mine to another boat at work and get the same fault code. Had to order a replacement. ££££ When looking into the fault we found a loose pump on a cracked bracket. The part arrived yesterday. bugger wrong one, correct one came overnight from Belgium On a scorching hot day, that was all put back together and painted up today. Boats now back on her mooring, as the replacment PCU is on back order until August. Now catching up with a few jobs at home, and getting the BBQ out. Not a great time to have a dead engine. But thats life. Charlie

Dont worry Mick I have them all in my plotter

There are a few things that make sea sickness worse Hangovers, Tiredness, Alcohol, Fizzy drinks, overheating and staring at the bottom of a rocking boat. and a few to make it better. avoid alcohol before and during, try to sleep well prior, drink water/tea, stay in the fresh air looking at the horizon and stay busy. But the one that worked best for Dan, [who suffered regularly when young] was snacking on ginger biscuits He has not been sick for years, but still enjoys a ginger nut onboard

Great place for a pitstop. Especially now its attached to a tackle shop. LOL

Well said Mal I have not seen the program , but it is shocking that water companies get away with the current situation. I live near the stour in Wimborne, but would not swim in it, even in these heatwaves. -
Some time ago we had a supply of fish measure stickers. Mine is a bit damaged, has anyone got any of these left over? Preferably a white one to match my boat. Thanks

Area of banks six miles from Poole In the area you highlighted yesterday. Any of the banks shown on your photo are worth a shot, especially if you can find fresh bait. The extra scent will bring them to you, if you have to use frozen bait it may take longer. And sometimes groundbait helps. Best way to learn would be to crew with someone, when they have space.
