OK, OK - so we havent even left for the first trip of the year yet... but I'm planning on getting over (and have the brownie pass to prove it!) for the 48hr comp.... weather permitting.

So!! Who fancies 3 days in the 'Islands' from 18th June to the 20th??

1.) JV - Adam, Alun and Ian

Do we Fancy it? YES YES YES

is it the best way to fish the 48hr comp? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM not sure

Can I get a pass, organise crew and afford it? is my bigest doubt

Would if I had the funds, but things are a little tight.

Just for the record, Topeing may be rather slow then.

They have Tope all year around apart from Mid June to early August when they seem to "usually" disappear for a while.

As I only get back from holiday the weekend before this, how much is it likely to cost for the weekend? and would anyone have space?

Looks like a few of the boats have space. Give Dave Evans a call on Wight Magic.

Costs? Depends on the boat and how far you go! JV is one of the more economical boats and I use just over 1l per N/M. The last 4 day trip cost

Just 3 weeks to this trip!

Has anyone had any luck on crew? I see we have 4/5/6 boats down but most need crew?

1.) JV - Adam, Alun and Ian

2.) AWOL - Dean, Martin +1?

3.) Pheaton - Duncan +1

4.) Serenity - Tony + 1?

5.) White Magic - Dave +2/3?

6.) Alfresco - tentative?

7.) Quest II - tentative?

Bump.

Dave and I have agreed our plan of action, so Wight Magic and JV will be leaving Poole at 5.30am and pretty much heading straight over, day 2 around the idland and day 3 fishing back over the channel.

Are any of the other boats confirmed with passage plans?

one the one hand the wedding (no 2 son) that's been dominating things for the last 6 months is now over (although I have about 1000 images to sort out...) - but on the other I won't have Phaeton ready. So I'm out this time round (again).

still hopeful I can get back to normal for Weymouth - and start to join in all round.

this should ensure that the fishing and weather is great (again) unsure.gif for everyone else

Thanks for your input Charlie but I think I have all those bases covered as Jackie will have to pack a bag for the caravan I will tell her that we will be going out to the Rips and sleep on the boat Thursday as a 5am start so technically all I have to do is sneak the bag aboard. Robs points I am more worried about ohmy.gifohmy.gif I will need to come up with a plan to cover that anyone have any bright ideals, help needed if I am going to pull this off. wink.gifbiggrin.gif

the best plan is to turn it into a question, or soft challenge ie the weather's great why don't we head into Alderney (or Cherbourg which is only an hour from the Rips and is all pontoons cool.gif ) instead of back to Poole and out again tomorrow?

don't forget passports

Like it Duncan but we don't hold passports.
