Adam F Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) Just thought I'd pop a little piccie up for why we use 'The Franklin Flyer'.... It's not a pennel - they are too bulky and impeed the bait's presentation. It's not rocket science, but a few years back after dropping alot of turbot, I decided to hair rig a size 12 carp hook... it worked! about 30% of the fish caught last week came in on the small hook - would have been dropped on a single hook. pirky Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Adam Is the Flyer baited or is it just nicked into the side of the launce or sandeel much the same principle as the pennel ?? Dave Quote
Adam F Posted May 27, 2010 Author Report Posted May 27, 2010 Nicked into the side of the bait - not under tension, just to keep it tucked out of the way. Quote
great white Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 This trick was shown to us by the man himself, when he came with us in 2008. used again in 2009 and recently, it also added a few fish to our net. Nice one and thanks for sharing Charlie Quote
Jim Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Thanks Adam, Good of you to share it with us. Once I overcome my lack of bites, I may get to try it. Jim Quote

Fugazi Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Works for sure, day one in Alderney using single hook I blanked while the others caught. Day two used a 1/0 pennel and result two Turbo's. Gordon H Quote
