I will be there to see the Vulcans, as father worked on them years ago in The Midlands with Rolls Royce. I had the privilege of watching a service flight leave Hucknall after Dad had worked on them, when I was a very young fellow. 24 Vulcans, line astern, 150 feet over my head, and perhaps only a minute or so between them.

For us with sensitive ears.........it is a time to hide and put head under cushions !!

 

.......or get as far out to sea as poss!!

Most memorable for me was a fly-by by the vulcan Olympus test bed for the Concorde engines. Four normal engines, and an Olympus slung underneath. When they lit up the Olympus, the Vulcan looked as though it had benn kicked up the jacksy... accelerated like a rocket, and the noise!!!
