Open Comp

Many thanks to all who helped organise and run the Open Comp, it was a great success especially considering the weather conditions.

 

Also thanks to all the sponsors who kindly donated prizes, lures and bait.

 

We had a hard day on Neo fishing out on the Gravel Bank where it was quite calm to start with but got quite choppy as the wind picked up. Steve had a nice ray on but he was also releasing rays but decided to do it before it reached the boat

 

Moved closer in later on in the afternoon, and then found the harbour heavy going on way back in.

 

Still good days fishing but less windy next time would be better

even though the weather was windier than hoped for, the comp was a great success

 

I must say a huge thank you to all of our generous sponsors, that once again made it a competition to be proud of. The ones I approached were very willing to continue to support the Club and its open

and many new sponsors also came forward.

 

The biggest thanks must go to all the anglers that turned out to fish on that forecast, especially those taking great efforts to bring fish to the scales alive so that they could be returned. I hope that our two new friends from the press make the most of these efforts.

 

Last but not least Well done to Dean for winning, and Dad for putting him on the fish of course. and all those that bought fish to the scales

Dave ( Wight Magic ) , Dave ( Coddy ) , Bill ( Ferret ) and Myself all fished aboard Wight Magic.

We had five different species on board, but nothing big enough to bring to the scales.

We all had fish. We had a good laugh and a very enjoyable day out.

Thanks again Dave, It's always a treat to be invited on WM.

I would like to thank on behalf of the whole club Rob and his little team of helpers, you are all stars. It may not have been the largest entry we have had in our opens but everything went smoothly and without a hitch, how do I know this? easy really as I didn't have to do anything and that for me was pure bliss.

 

And if any of our club sponsors are reading this an especially big thank you to you. Without your support our comp would not be what it is and thats HUGE
