I bought an almost brand new outboard from Wrasster early part of last year which he had covered the cowling in carpet tape. He had done it purposely to make it look like a "bag of nails" to deter the little urchins from targeting it.

 

Took me an age to get it off!

If they shoot the thieves and the receivers of stolen goods, we wouldn't need locks.

Nice idea and I'd get one if my small o/bs weren't so tatty anyway.

 

However, we have determined tea leaves around here, a couple of big (100+ hp) outboards have been stolen by chainsawing the transom off the back of the boat!

 

Someone even prised the cuddy off a Boston Whaler....
