TomBettle Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Just a thought, but rather than making statements from experts or specialists on an open forum that effectively slates the build quality and processes of one the most popular small boat manufacturers in the UK you should talk to them first. I am not a Warrior owner, but I believe they are better built than many other brands. That said, I am not a great fan of them and don't believe them to be perfect. Making public statements about shuttering ply, no stringers and lack of hardwood keel on an open forum without backing it up with any evidence is potentially slanderous and if proved incorrect could cost the op and potentially the club for allowing it a lot of money indeed. With documented evidence it is a different story, but doesn't necessarily make it right. A private discussion with Warrior would be a far better place to start. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Thread closed and my post deleted awaiting a response from Warrior Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 I have now had a reply from Phil at Warrior boats which is below I would firstly like to thank Martin for giving us the right to reply against what is obviously an attempt to slur the name and good reputation of Warrior Boats by a seemingly bitter and twisted man. Secondly I would like to thank the Warrior owners and non Warrior owners alike that have posted their views and the sensible advice given if problems should arise. (especially the one about keeping the box ). I did prepare a much longer reply defending the allegations and comments made by Quote
Matt Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 i have pm the origional poster with my email address to send a picture, if he responds ill forward it to someone who knows how to post pictures Quote
great white Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Well done Martin Good of Phil to respond and no doubt it has put some of our warrior owners minds at rest. The deck I changed was on an older dory that had suffered water damage via various screws and fixings. Hard to stop water inress especially if the boat has stood uncovered for long periods. Had we known that this boat was a Mk1, 12 years old no doubt the replies would have been differant. Charlie Quote
fisherman1055 Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Martin many thanks for enabling a right to reply from warrior Boats I am always in favour of freedom of speech and will always give a (BOB) the opprrtunity to have his say I am also pleased that companys / individuals / organisations get the right of reply it is always interesting what comes out when the truth is discovered I wish that people would be truthful in their comments as they do look stupid when found out. Members please amend your comments on the issues in the light of the real facts Best wishes Tony Quote
Brian Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 I wonder if Rathbourne has actually got a boat, or does he just like stirring trouble? I typed his email adress into Facebook and found his page and photo album. Not one mention or photo of a Warrior. Quote

Paul D Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Just read the detailed reply from Phil at Warrior ( it was hiding in my email ). Unfortunately I was on holiday in Egypt. I think it is quite telling that there has been no pictures and no reply since rathbone posted. I think you can draw your own conclusions from that ( I know I have ! ) Quote
