petesnr Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Hi All I'd just like to post a big thanks to all of those present at Thursday's meeting who sponsored me. 17 of us slept out in on the gravel in the middle of the Nothe Fort at Weymouth to raise funds for projects in Dorset run by the Charity I work for. (Alabare). We have just opened two houses for veterans of the armed forces in Weymouth and these will benefit from your generosity. Incidentally there was frost on the outside of my sleeping bag in the morning and it was certainly a spooky place to have an hour on watch between 4 and 5am. I wandered around and did have goose bumps a couple of times as I passed inky black doorways.... One of the others swore she had seen movement when she was on duty...... I must go back in daylight to have a better look around. Thanks again Petesnr Quote
Jim Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Well done Peter. It's a very good cause. It's also a disgrace that our Lads ( & Lasses ) fight for our country, and then have to rely on people such as yourself to raise funds to help them back to civilian life. Bloody Well Done. Jim Quote
Newboy Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Well done, I bet it was like sleeping in a walkin freezer. Quote
mike02380 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I can only echo what Jim has already said, a worthy cause Quote
Paul D Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Well done Peter, I was thinking how cold you must have been when I saw the frost that evening. Quote
