This quote helped also:

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance

Sorry about the controller - as to the trip, well I'm booked to Washington (Baltimore) in a few weeks so have a vested interest in your trip being OK!

Paul if you still make the trip are the parts any cheaper that side of the pond?

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Paul.

As Nige mentioned, the US must be worth a look. If you're going to find a recon unit anywhere, I would have guessed that the US would be the cheapest.

Sorry to hear that Paul,

Knowledge is King.

Do we know anyone with the expertise to fix it ?

Could it be a dry joint ?

Could it just be one little 3quid chip?

Anyone in the club know anyone ? ? ? ?

Re EMM

Looks like its "Potted" to me.

I don't think there is much hope of an invasive repair

Also don't forget the VAT charges if your shipping from the States.

Sorry it seems all bad news

quite possibly a different thing altogether Paul but when my citroen ECU died I was quoted over 1000 for a new one. I searched citroen forums and found that it could be sent away and repaired, which I did and it cost me less than 200.

May be of no help at all but it might be worth a look on google or etech forums etc.
