Anyone know where i can get hold of a 'heavy duty' winch post to suit a warrior 165? (needs to be quite high)

my last one has failed due to very poor welding , made by Ambrose trailers mad.gif , i'm no expert on welding but now the galvanised surface has been torn you can see it's quite shoddy welding.

Any help welcome, i did try sbs trailers but no response to tech questions yet,

or do you know someone who could make one (proper welding essential)

Thanks guys.......yes , mine is clamp on i.e moveable.......It was the actual 'A' frame of the post that the welding failed.

Brian, Is youre trailer made by SBS Trailers ?, It looks very similar to the posts on their website.

Cheers Brian, i will give SBS another call as i need to know the width of the foot that clamps to my trailer (50mm)?

Jim, not too sure if i can weld on galvinised again or re-coat????but i will leave that option open incase i can't get a new one.

Picture of my old one......

Hi Gary

On an old trailer, i had the post break at the base weld, I had it re welded and painted it with a galvafloid paint. Worked ok for me.

We use the paint for sealing the ends when we cut galvanised cable tray and tranking or support unistrut.

Hi Gary,

Try giving Peter Blake a call at Sureweld.

Tel. 01202532487.

10&12 Yeomans way.

Bournemouth

Dorset

BH8 0BJ

At the rear of ASDA at Castle Point open (0800-1700 Mon Fri).

He has done no end of welding for me in the past including my front mounted tow-bar.

Just take it round to the yard and I'm sure he will make a much heavier set for you and get it Galvanised at the same time.

Thanks again Brian, looks like a re-weld if the foot's bigger than the trailer.....possibly making it unstable, i'll wait a few more days for SBS to get back to me

If it's no good then i will try Peter Blake recommended by Mickey B

I will report back later...THANKS AGAIN biggrin.gif

Hi Mate,

If you want to reweld I can do it for you, and then give it a couple of coats of cold galvanizing paint ( Galvafroid), which should be just fine, as it is an industry accepeted standard for welds on galvanized steel.

PM me if you need it welded.
