Sea Warrior Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Hi there, We will be going to the Needles launching Mudeford 7 - 7 30. There was quite alot of nice cod caught over there yesterday even close in but the larger fish were caught near bottom of ebb. Biggish tide over there tomorrow so may fish up to high water then go bassing for the ebb. look out for a raider 18 mate. Quote
johnnyb. Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Hi Stephen It will be great to see another Member out there tommorow we will try and get out a bit earlier and see you on the slip.As youve probably realised Im fairly new to the sea fishing malarky, not wanting to sound like a total landlubber but is the bottom of the EBB when the tide first turns from HW which would make it about 10.00??? Johnnyb. Quote
alun j. Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Be aware of the tides tomorrow and Weds. Tomorrow, with LW at 4.50, you will need to be well before 3 .... or you'll be out there in the dark till well after 6.30. High air pressure and Spring tide ! About 30 mins later on Weds. Quote
johnnyb. Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks for the tip Alun.Ill be back by 2.30 tues .have to leave needles at 1.30. Ive got stuck out there in my old boat last year had to wait for the tide to turn. Quote
johnnyb. Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Alun on this web site LW is at 5.52. is it all guesswork or can tides be perfectly predicted??? http://easytide.ukho.gov.uk/EASYTIDE/EasyT...dictionLength=3 Quote
Sea Warrior Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Hi Johnnyb, flood tide meaning up to hw , ebb tide meaning down to lw. Buy your self a tidal atlas it is a great way of seeing how the tides work and at what state the tide is at which ever area you are fishing in around are region. As Alun has already said be very careful going in and out of run. see you tomorrow Quote
alun j. Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Johnny.....if that link is what you are using .... switch location to Christchurch Entrance. The Quay is way up river.... and a fair bit later !! If anything, the Bar is a bit earlier , even than the Entrance !! Quote
johnnyb. Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks again Alun.Ive changed my tide site to entrance.oh dear!!! as they say A Little knowledge is etc etc etc . Quote
