I have sold dat dam boat, but will now start to look for a replacement. I'm after something fairly cheap, 2-3k and between 14-18 in length. If anyone knows anything, please let me know. Cheers Dan

I think DatDam Boat would fulfill the requirement! Rodney you plonker!

Seriously, what was the reason for the sale to make her not suitable? AS i thought she was 18ft and between

Probably too slow from what I remember.

Not a planing hull I don't think.

You need a Warrior Dan. - - - Not for that money though.

I have something wink.gif Well I have won a bid on ebay anyway. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love her. I'l post more info when collected.

Well my boat was great, but I got let down by the trailer as that was very shoddy and needed replacing, and I couldn't handle a pull start engine anymore. Fine in the summer when its warm, but in the winter, a pull start is horrible, when all you want to do is fire her up and head off.

I got decent money for her, but I am really keeping my fingers crossed on the replacement.

This is the boat I am picking up this week as a replacement for the old one. She is called Just For Fun. She comes on a decent trailer that has new wheels, hubs, bearings etc, a well serviced 60 hp engine (although pretty old, but in mint condition), a new 3.5 aux back up, navman vhf, colour plotter and colour FF, built in hob in the front, 2 complete anchor set ups, life jackets, and full working electrics. Not everyone's cup of tea, but she will certainly do me and Dom.

Now I'm keen again, I look forward to rejoining the club at the end of the month. biggrin.gif

Hi Dan

Looks an interesting craft, 17ft Wilson maybe?

I am sure you will enjoy her and have plenty of fish over the gunnels

Should go well with a 60hp on the back

Hi Guys

I had a wilson flyer for years.

Fitted with 60hp she went well and we had loads of fun and fish on her.

Sure they will slam in a chop, but slow down and she will be fine. They are a superb fishing platform at anchor or drifting

I changed mine to take out the cabin bulkhead and then she was even better.

Have you seen the recent reports in the Magazine from Graham Pullen and his son fishing from theirs, a bright yellow WF17.

you can get them on youtube I think under totally awsome fishing or simular

Have fun, it will be good to see you out there again

Well done guys!

A proper fun toy there.

As Derek said I had one for years and had such great fun.

Must be very similar to mine with 60hp, I would expect 22-24 knots dependant on the load.

Wonderfully stable, just need a little respect with a chop running. Mine did a litre a mile at a fraction under WOT but expect 1.5 or more at displacement. Interestingly mine would run displacement up to 8 knots but would then step up and do 12+ with no change in throttle setting. I never did make her sit at 10 knots through Poole harbour.

Enjoy chaps, great to see you back.

Cheers Trev and others....looking forward to when me and danny get to take her for her maiden voyage and to bag ourselves a few lumps!

Think we've got us a tidy little tub there!!!

Pick her up tomorrow.

Dom
