Stuie
Cabin Boy and I decided on a late start in view of the anticipated drop in wind speed this afternoon - WRONG. left Cobbs at 12 and poked our nose out of the harbour to find a bigger than anticipated swell - a swift u-turn at the end of the training bank saw us back in the harbour and motoring towards this very smart looking white thingy - Wishin Too. Had an unproductive hour or so on a buoy near the castle. Dream Drifter motored past heading for the patch. We had aA similar spell in the North channel before we tried once again to test the conditions outside. The smart white thingy passed us without too much of a problem but conditions were no better for us than earlier - so another u-turn and back inside again. Tried a couple of buoys before finding one that gave us a fish - in fact half a dozen small sand smelts (I'll post a pic later ). Then the light rod hooped over as a small bass made an unsuccessful bid for freedom - duly returned. Further moves were unproductive but more lessons learned about conditions - tide and where to winkle out a few. Great to be out too.
