Rob Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Nice to see so many live fish that were returned to fight again - except the conger that wouldn't stay in the bucket (Thanks for the help Sam C!). Rob Quote
Rob Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks to all our sponsors, we had great support again and 67 anglers entered the comp. Including the cash prizes we had a prize table of approx just over Quote
Mike Fox Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 What a good turn out on a lumpy day. Can the PBSBAC club members be indicated easily? Thanks, Mike Quote
Guest Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 well done PBSBAC (and Rob in particular) on organising what looks like a great day, and well done to all that took part. This is another year that I have not joined in the fun for one reason or other. Hopefully next year I'll get my self organised better. Quote
Sam Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 the conger finally went back to fight another day, after trying to eat my hand on the way back in, good but hard day thanks rob and charlie for organising a top competition again tight lines chappers Quote

Rob Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 We should be called Poole Bay Dogfishing Club!!! I must say I was pleased with the scales we invested in! To have 3 LSD's 0.1oz between them all was close!!!!!! Rob Quote
great white Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Well done Rob and Charlie the main organisers, and to all of the hardy souls that joined in on a windy day. Thanks to all of the helpers at the sign in points and the weigh station Huge Thanks to all at Cobbs Quay and the various tackle shops that helped and fed the hungry anglers after the Prizegiving. Last and of course not least. Thanks to all of the sponsors and those Members that arrange them. Without them it would not have been such a success. JIMBOB Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Well done to everyone envolved, I really wanted to fish this one ,even booked the day off work. But I over commited myself to fishing sat early in the week with the good forcast and glad I did, I had a good day. That eel would have done well if caught sunday! But the prospect of bringing such a fish back from christchurch to poole alive in the back of my car, if caught in the comp, would have been a nightmare! I would not have wanted to kill such a fish, and I dont have a freezer big enuff! will have to dig the trailer out for next year! Forcast looked better than forcast tho, was thinking of you lot while at my sons football match, Good effort guys. James Quote
JIMBOB Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 We should be called Poole Bay Dogfishing Club!!! Jim Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I was lucky enough to be invited out for the day on Serenity with Tony & Martin. We tried all of the usual spots without success. Tony had a couple of Mackerel on the patch & I had a 2 Quote
Rob Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 I'm sure it was nothing to do with the boozy night that had on saturday!!! Quote
mw Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Rob where would a 14 oz corkwing wrasse have finished mw Quote
Rob Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 You would finish in folklore! 187.5% so wipe the floor with the the other competitors, and set a new British Record, should you choose to kill a cracking beautiful record fish! Other than that, why do you ask? Rob Current British Record 12oz 11dms 360gms - 2005. Quote
mw Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Because I caught one yesterday and through it back mw Quote
Rob Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 New club record! Mike I don't think the Club recognises "Mini-Species" for records. Rob Quote
great white Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 No I never weighed it mw Sorry f I missed something , but if it was not weighed where did the 14oz part of your question come from Quote
Paul D Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Was well pleased to have got my crew his first ever Blonde Ray and the second placed fish. Was even more pleasing that we had agreed to go halves on the winnings Was a bit rough out there mind, poor old James was sick three times before we moved to the edge of the spoils and he caught the ray. Only just fitted in my landing net as well. First blonde ray of size to be caught on neo as well. Result Ps. Many thanks for the bottle of scotch as well as donated by Charlie. Quote
charlieannear Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Congratulations to James on his first Ray! And for getting a deserved prize after persevering when under the weather. I can fully sympathise with James' reaction to those conditions... at least Sam, my 8 year old son has better sea-legs than me! Quote
