Brian Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 This looks like a bargain, if genuine, although it would need a larger engine (90hp). http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/offshore-cruisers/jeanneau-merry-fisher-580-grp-cruiser-2002-PAA90920 Quote
Leicester Fisheagle Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Worth a look. As you say, the 50 hp engine 2 or 4 stroke? Could well be underpowered for fishing outside the Harbour. Allan. Quote
Brian Posted March 26, 2014 Author Report Posted March 26, 2014 Definitely underpowered, Sea Sparkle is a Merry Fisher 580 and when Derek bought it, it had a 60hp Mercury. It was right on the limit for planning, therefore kept dropping off the plane. Quote
Mike Fox Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 I found this one on the same site for not much more, but not sure if 90 HP inboard turbo diesel would be more economical and would still plane? http://fishing.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/offshore-cruisers/beneteau-620-fishing-boat-day-cruiser-90-turbo-diesel-PAA91188 I could almost be tempted myself! Mike Looks ok Do you think these bargains are a sign of the times, or due to the weather last year and people not getting enough use out of them. Quote
