Graham Nash
My little boat has a very short transom but my engine has a long shaft. I've used it a few times bolted straight to the transome and it pushes me along ok but seems to lift the nose a lot. Extending the tiller and sitting further forward gets me moving much quicker and to be honest would be absolutely fine for what I do with it ...... BUT ..... Is there any technical issues wth using a long shaft on a short transom? (apart from adding another 6 or 7 inches to my draft) I made a makeshift extension to my transom to lift the engine by the required amount yesterday and gave it a try but it only seemed to add a lot of stress to the transom) Alternatively ..... is anyone out there wanting to part with an 8 / 10 hp short shaft engine?
