Where is best to moor in Cobbs Quay ?

 

We are doing the two months thing as we have family coming to stay and want to try out the boat

But where do we moor up ? A B C D E or F pontoon ??

Anyone reckon wheres best for a novice boat owner to park ???

And don't say at home lol

F pontoon used to be the cheapest.

Have you looked at Rockley Boat Park?

 

Several of us keep our boats there, my Warrior 165 costs £1850 for the 12 months. That's unlimited lifts in and out, no need to anti-foul, boat gets pressure washed and engine flushed after every use.

The further you are down the pontoon fingers away from the Office / shop / bar etc - the more you are affected by both wind and tide. As you get nearer the office it becomes more sheltered by the other boats. Plus it is not so far to walk with your gear - on and off!

 

I you are uncertain about your skills, I suggest you practise a few times in double vacant berths, before trying to get into a single berth.

 

The trick is to go as slow as possible - and use the wind and tide if their is any. 

 

I am sure some of the club members would help if you need it. Many of us are based in Cobb's.

It's just I was doing a boys weekend and the boys have dropped out so I'm gonna use the cash to berth at cobbs for two months, using their summer offer.

I've been told we can moor anywhere we like. We looked at F pontoon earlier in the year as it's cheaper but with this summer deal it doesn't matter it's all the same price.

So we are looking for as much info as possible from existing cobbs residents to where is best ????

F pontoon is ok I'm down there, a longer walk and no electric further down.

Gets busy in car park on a nice weekend, but apart from that it fine.

I'm often told it's the council estate from some of the A and B t%%sers

But ha ho that's my budget and I'm happy down there

I must be getting towards the posh part of F pontoon i have electric and not far to walk god bless council estates nothing wrong with them it's some of the pratt's they put on them
