Rob Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Well, Al and I had discussed the next window in the weather. Sunday was chosen and we met early, with a late return in mind due to the bar!! Well, a bass to me of 7 lb 13oz! The story goes: I snapped my braid on "the bottom" 10 yds from the float, so lost float etc ect. Float gone, dragged down by the tide! We were passing the same area an hour later at slack water & Keeping and eye out incase the float might surface. Hard to spot due to sun, but from 150/200 yds I saw it. Picked up the braid as Al approached from down tide. It felt a bit heavy! Then, that fish surfaced and I shouted for the net, braid all round my hand, in a massive tangle. Al's net caught up on his rig, so I brought fish to boat and lifted it out by the bottom lip, 7lb 13! A great day out on the water in good company! Rob Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 Thanks Paul! When I inspected the end, it looked like a knot had pulled, so maybe a loop in the braid that popped! Quote
Rob Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 Plus it snapped away from the rod as I still had some line to reel in. But I will check, thanks to the idea! Quote
