I have small fixed spool reel that i got from new it has been used one time then washed and stored but the handle will not turn it is solid but in all brand new any thoughts

soak it in saltX and try again.

I have bought several new reels particular diaiwa saltiest multipliers that have absolutely no grease or oil inside and have caused problems early on solved by dismantling and adding lubrication. Could be washing in water could have aggravated this situation suggest opening up and checking if any lubrication needed

I've got some paste that dissolves rust.

You're welcome to a " dab " of it Graham.

May prove difficult though. It needs to be able to get at it to work.

Thanks Jim but no rust there , Martin it cost £35-00 so don't no if it's worth any money thrown at it i think it is bin it and don't buy cheap tackle again

If it only cost that amount get the screwdriver out yourself and take a chance

Been there done that Martin if you turn the bale arm the handle will turn but try the handle as you should and locked solid no rust inside i think i will bury it at sea with some other good tackle ? if i print off the gps numbers for this maybe we could have a new reef and some good will come from this tackle
