Steve S Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Tigerfish is planning to go to Alderney, around the dates of Thursday 11th to Monday 15th August for either a 3 or 4 day trip, exact dates and trip length weather dependant. Tides are nice and neapy. JV is planning to go as well. Anyone else? Quote

Mike Fox Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 Hi chaps, we sighted Alderney today, and currently are in Dielette. Having NW 4/5-6 for next day or so. I know Alderney week is about now, and if so, you might have to anchor. Good luck if you make it! Mike Quote
plaicemat Posted August 10, 2016 Report Posted August 10, 2016 All I'm going to say is, "looking forward to the next few days"! Adam F 1 Quote
Adam F Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Well that was a shifty rough crossing! West 5 pushing 6 all the way over. Now sat in Braye with a well earned cuppa Kingfisher 126, niggle and Stuie 3 Quote
great white Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Well done Adam It has been a bit fresh here all day. I hope that you get a few Bass and Turbot for your efforts, are you staying with mark or on board? Quote
Adam F Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Staying with Mark, just sat here now watching the Olympics before we head down to the Maria Hall for a steak!! Rob 1 Quote
Mike Fox Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 We punched from Dielette to Cherbourg today in under 4 hours. Very lively south of Alderney with. NW4/5 occ 6. The race was boisterous, and we took a fair bit over the top. Much flatter over the top of Cherbourg. Good luck with the fishing, but the Schole would have been unfishable today. Mike Quote
Steve S Posted August 16, 2016 Author Report Posted August 16, 2016 The crossing was pretty rough, westerly mostly 5 occ 6 I would say. Took 4.5 hours from Lymington, just went straight into Braye and had a cup of tea... fisherman1055 and Kingfisher 126 2 Quote

Adam F Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 I'm in a hotel tomorrow so will do JVs then, I've also got a bit of video to work up.... I've just about recovered from hauling turbot now... Quote
great white Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 "Just about recovered from hauling turbot" Bit of an exageration mate, in may I was using my bass spinning rod, they hardly pull your arms off. Quote
Adam F Posted August 18, 2016 Report Posted August 18, 2016 I doubt you caught as many as I did mate - probably less hauling more repetative strain injury.... RSI Quote
great white Posted August 19, 2016 Report Posted August 19, 2016 Probably right Adam Even my best day on the turbo's was hardly exhausting. In fact the first fish on the way home was a medium sized Pollack in 50m of water at the French holes and outfought them all. In fact the Nannal's pollack fight harder. Still a good result though, to go fishing and be knackered from catching so many is a fisherman's dream come true. Quote
