crazy fred
Is any member keen to go cod fishing tommorow Tuesday. Fishing the Isle of Wight and leaving at 7-00 on the dot to fish the ebb. Short list of must have or must do's . Have a good sense of humour and be a good angler and not have better tackle than me and also be good at cleaning down as this gets messy . Depending on weather back at 6 ish cost £50 towards the fuel and supply your own bait . There will only be two of us on the boat as I don't like crowds . First come first serve so come and try the Sea Wolf experience with plenty of abuse and coffee Tel 07967687155 Typical reaction when you loose a cod Kingfisher 126, gaffa, Stuie and 2 others

crazy fred
Well it was off at 7-00 on my lonesome off in to the darkness yet again . Got there anchored up and fishing by 8-00 the ebb was just getting away perfect . All keen and my eyes were like they were super glued to the rod tips so as not to miss any thing that resembled a bite . After an hour with not so much as a tremor it was time for coffee and a bowl of porridge for breaky that normally gets a bite . Well after downing the piping hot bowl of sludge and swilling it down with the coffee still no action of any kind . After 2 hours thoughts of moving are crossing my mind but I must resist then a small rattle like a pout bite so I think strike it just to get rid of the little bugger . As I strike the rod bends over this is no pout and it ends up being a cod of 13-2 . So after 2 hrs I've had 1 bite then 10mins later I get another resulting in a cod of 9-4 that was at 10-00 and I didn't catch another fish of any kind all day . So I sat there trying to stay keen for 7 hrs for nothing except for one tremor that was possibly weed . The baits were like you'd just put them on after 2 hours except for the odd starfish hanging on . I decided to up and away at 5-00 as it was fruitless staying on so set the auto pilot for home ang got washed down and filleted the fish . The weather was unbelievable and the two cod were a bonus but the sting in the tail was I hit something submerged at 21 kit Big Bang on the starboard side . Stopped checked engine rooms and bilges and no leaks or damage to be found so must have been a glancing blow unless in the morning I can only see the Ariels and raydome. Summary of trip 2 cod and sod all else , Ate 3 packs of porridge through boredom and starting to talk like one of the krankies Then to cap it off hit submerged object Still keen though niggle, Stuie, Steve S and 4 others

crazy fred
The boat is ok small, chip near the gunwal which meant it was something rather tall. Went down to the boat and went back on the track to see what I had hit . The culprit was the simply vynl race marker not marked on the chart nor lit . Having purchased the latest navionics platinum plus chart on Monday and crashing into a buoy on Tuesday I had to make some noisey enquiries . First back to Chris at greenhams to find why it was not marked on the latest card ? . A quick phone call to navionics to be told it's an unchartered race marker. Then a phone call to Mr Stephenson who looks after most of the bouys Informed me that parkstone yacht club were somthing to do with so must phone "CHARLIE" . So if coming back from the island in the dark don't set a safe passage on the plotter you might get a surprise in the way of a big yellow thing THE OFFENDING LUMP OF VINYL Kingfisher 126 and Jim
