After blanking last Thursday, I thought I'd give Holes Bay a try.

go paint your front door and watch it dry. Or if you really want some excitement super glue a pound coin to the pavement and watch that.

I tried to get a sneaky trip in Brian but weather changed and you followed us back in up to Cobbs, only Cuttlefish on board so felt the elusive Flounder would be even more elusive so home early (very early)!!!

Weather certainly more breezy than forecast [How unusual]

Came round to Holes Bay, one flounder came to the surface and then let go of the bait. Fished there for awhile then went back out and tried Baiter/Parkstone Bay and over by Brownsea. No more bites and came in at 2.

I was going out for some whiting..but it was a lot more bumpy/windy than forecast....so came in and used up some worms in Christchurch harbour.  Where are all the flounders ??...only managed three.

 

Bit of a swell running over the Bar...made for a challenging out / in.

 

Glad I came in early as it got bigger later... I watched one one the commercials coming in about 3.30.....coming  in through surf...a big breaker hit it side on! If it had been anything other than a cat, it could have gone over !
