Steve S Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 A late first posting of this favorite annual topic . I've penciled in a trip to Alderney in Tigerfish around the weekend of 6th-7th of May aiming for a 4 day trip the from 4th to the 7th as the best neaps are then. Backup weekend date of the 20th-21st of May with a 4 day trip from the 18th to the 21st or 19th to the 22nd. No crew arranged yet. Anyone else planning on going? Jim 1 Quote
great white Posted January 29, 2017 Report Posted January 29, 2017 Taking the boys away on the first dates, fishing in the sun so will probably not go this year. Jim 1 Quote
Maverick Martin Posted January 29, 2017 Report Posted January 29, 2017 I probably will not be going over the channel this year but am looking at alternative long weekends away Quote

Adam F Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 Hello everyone! The shooting season has now finished so I'm back! Really keen to get back to Alderney again this year, so count JV I'm on these dates. As usual, we will go when the weather and crew allows provided we have at least 1 buddy boat. With Alderney Angling closing down, more of a reason to maybe look at Guernsey as a base this year? Quote
Steve S Posted February 4, 2017 Author Report Posted February 4, 2017 Hi Adam. I'm happy to base at Guernsey there is a problem though, B&B is in general much more expensive. They also may not be flexible cancelling when bad weather and let's face it we often cancel. Quote
great white Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 Higuys AA accomadation will be their main business soon, give Mark a call Quote
plaicemat Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 Already tried Mark for the first dates, unfortunately full. Quote
Oli Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 Hi Steve, Adam, anyone else... Are you still looking at these dates? We're looking at a Friday-Sunday trip Oli Quote
Steve S Posted April 10, 2017 Author Report Posted April 10, 2017 Hi Oli Yes, same dates, ideally Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th for the best (smallest) tides. Will flex depending on weather. Quote
Oli Posted April 10, 2017 Report Posted April 10, 2017 Good stuff, we're very fair weather Alderney visitors so let's hope for sunshine and mirror-like seas! Rob and great white 2 Quote

Adam F Posted April 25, 2017 Report Posted April 25, 2017 Dave, JV has the 19th as Plan B so if we get blown off we will be there with you. Adam Quote

Steve S Posted May 2, 2017 Author Report Posted May 2, 2017 Plan A cancelled, thwarted by the wind, going to plan B, the 19th. So weather rules as per usual. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Shame, Friday and Saturday looks pretty awful but sun Mon Tues looks ok at the mo Fingers crossed for the 19th as we're off up to Weymouth then Quote
Mike Fox Posted May 3, 2017 Report Posted May 3, 2017 North-easterlies for a while chaps...maybe the next 8-9 days. Braye would be untenable for me in that. I'm watching it like a hawk too! Mike Quote
Oli Posted May 15, 2017 Report Posted May 15, 2017 Any thoughts yet? Weather seems to change every time I look Quote
Wight Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Report Posted May 15, 2017 It looked ok over the weekend but has really changed on xc today hopefully it will settle out Quote
