gonorn Posted November 4, 2021 Report Posted November 4, 2021 Spoke to Phil this morning, Lots of small Whiting showing, but only the odd one or two over the 1 lb mark. There is a few mackerel showing still. Tight lines guys. Mike plaicemat and Jim 2 Quote
plaicemat Posted November 4, 2021 Report Posted November 4, 2021 The good whiting seem to have passed us by, my cousin in Norfolk had over 60 between 3 of them from Cley beach and most were keepers. Terry. Leicester Fisheagle 1 Quote
Colin-58 Posted November 4, 2021 Report Posted November 4, 2021 Good luck Allan, Cod practiceing for the 14th I expect? 😏😂 I think the cod are on the 10 mile banks. Quote

Rob Posted November 5, 2021 Report Posted November 5, 2021 The good whiting seem to have passed us by, my cousin in Norfolk had over 60 between 3 of them from Cley beach and most were keepers. Terry.Well, they were thick on cornwall in sept and mid Oct. Bait touched bottom for 2 seconds and we were hooked up. Mind you, 10 - 1 small to keeper ratio.R Jim and plaicemat 2 Quote
Leicester Fisheagle Posted November 5, 2021 Author Report Posted November 5, 2021 Plenty of Tope to around 35lbs with a PB to Mike. Several larger fish lost as we weren't really expecting or geared up for them. A few of the initial runs being several hundred yards and then snap offs or bite offs, initally we suspected a small shark till we got one to the boat. A good selection of Rays across two of the three marks fished with six over 14lbs the largest being a Blonde of17 lbs. The usual Congers, dogs etc. plus one solitary Whiting on out third mark near Tom on Illusion. A really calm day with plenty of Winter sunshine. So much for the Winter Species. Mike may put up a few pictures. sparky, Colin-58, Hooky and 3 others 6 Quote
Mike Fox Posted November 5, 2021 Report Posted November 5, 2021 Fished Southbourne from shore this evening, and drew a blank. It's rare to have a winter beach fishing trip where I had as many cod as I had pin whiting! Kingfisher 126 and Jim 1 1 Quote
Mal Thomas Posted November 6, 2021 Report Posted November 6, 2021 Mike, the trawler had been working just of the beach all day. Jim and Mike Fox 1 1 Quote
Hooky Posted November 6, 2021 Report Posted November 6, 2021 10 mile bank , not far from start of Sadler, very strong tides as predicted saw 2lb of lead just about keeping on the bottom. Bait was whole single squid, endless dogs and big congers, nothing else whatsoever . Really not my type of thing but it was the first time out in ages with very light winds making a nice day out. Nice to see a few club boats out , big problem getting back on the mooring , Lower F pontoon (odd) had less than a foot of water ☹️ boyscott and Colin-58 2 Quote

boyscott Posted November 7, 2021 Report Posted November 7, 2021 Hooky Regarding the depth on F pontoon at LW, I told MDL in August that it needed dredging. I got a response that they did not yet know when it was due to be surveyed but would let me know. Nothing heard to date so it might be worth letting them hear your experience too Regards Max Quote

Had same conversation years ago, was told couldn't dredge it as it would affect the island opposite ????? I was on F17 then and it was unbelievebly shallow there. Now moved to opposite side of pontoon and no problems getting in or out now.😃😃 boyscott 1 Quote
