lofty Posted May 21, 2023 Report Posted May 21, 2023 There were 36 kayakers on the water yesterday. Jerry and Mal, Collin and Bobby overseeing in the bay. It was a bit snotty, not what I would normally launch in. Fishing was slow but I managed to winkle out what I thought was 6 species, although it turned out I had a male and a female cork wing . Thanks to the chap who came to the club meeting and shared his competition rigs with us I managed second place .Big thanks to the support boats who hopefully enjoyed the day as well.Cheers Rob, Stuie, 2006holmwood and 5 others 8 Quote

Mal Thomas Posted May 21, 2023 Report Posted May 21, 2023 We did enjoy our day Lofty and admire all those well equipped fishermen. We did notice what looked like some hard and sometimes precarious retrievals of stuck in anchors. Question, do they trip their anchors, if not it might be something to make some aware of. Well done on your caught species. DaleJ, jerry.shutter and Kingfisher 126 3 Quote
jerry.shutter Posted May 21, 2023 Report Posted May 21, 2023 Well done on second place Steve, how many species won it? DaleJ 1 Quote
lofty Posted May 21, 2023 Author Report Posted May 21, 2023 Hi MalIt was mad the amount of anchors lost. To be honest most of us use a trip, but whatever the makeup of the sea bed there it eats the 1 kilo kayak anchors.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk jerry.shutter and Mal Thomas 2 Quote
biggcol Posted May 21, 2023 Report Posted May 21, 2023 Well done lofty. We managed 5 species each too, and 6 for the boat.I think Jerry did better. We did manage 11 bream in the end. We take our hats off to you Kayak guys it was not the best of conditions. We did try to retrieve an anchor for Iain but sadly the line snapped but we did get his buoy and anchor reel back for him.
