Wow is it that time of year again already.

Having just picked up a tidebook, Dave and I are looking at when the tides look good.

During May the weekends are not brilliant. One mid month has potential and an early one in June could be a good reserve date.

Is anyone else keen to take their boats this year?

I am hoping to have Will and Gordon as crew again. Planning to fish the banks and wrecks.

Had a look on the Boatworks Guernsey website yesterday.

Their fuel prices are way cheaper than Alderney at £0.86 ltr red diesel. If we still fished Schole Bank, I would be tempted to go there.

I've filled up there a few times, they are very efficient, Alderney is pricy now and has been since Covid. Need a big tank to make it worthwhile. I've had a few Turbos on the banks round Sark so I'd combine it with a visit there.

Dave and I have crewed up to go over on the 16th May, weather permitting.

Staying ashore for three nights,  this time in La Ville hotel.

I booked this morning directly with the new Manager Sophie.

She seems to be much easier to deal with and very relaxed about cancellation and deposit.

I have put this up in case others are thinking of coming and need some accommodation.

Nice one Steve

We wanted to go with buddy boat and Dave could not make those early May dates.

Hopefully you will get across, catch plenty and give us a nice fishing report with an update on how it is fishing.
