Hi all

I  need to replace a lost landing net, with a large and robust one that could handle tope and rays.

Large size with a long handle would be ideal. I am shying away from the gel nets as I am not sure of their durability with spiny or toothy fish.

I have considered getting one from Stainless Steve , but am concerned about the weight when used single handed on solo trips.

What nets do other Members use?

and where did you get them from?

Thanks Charlie

We have a greys rubber mesh net, extending handle and will take any rays you throw at it and have had big hounds in it but may struggle with 30lb plus tope. Good if you lure fish though as hooks don't stick in the mesh.

You hit the nail on the head Charlie, i have a SS net which is enormously strong but it is very heavy to land your own fish, so a light weight one similar size but ally handle and rubber net is a piece of cake if single handed or for Bream or Bass.

Tried my rubber net but found it caught a lot of tide, open knotted nets flow through the tide better.

Have you a make / model of what you use instead of the rubber one Mal?

That what I had and am trying to replace, but am struggling to identify and source.

I did think about getting the Aluminium hoop and net from Stainless Steve and using the handle off of the broken net. but of course the diameters are wrong.
