So the answer is no then.

 

The charter boats do not even like the bolt on Stainless ones, they insist that theirs are welded to the boats rails.

 

Dave and I regularly tighten ours up and all rods are fitted with rope lanyards

Well, 1, we were blueshark fishing. I had just lowered a semi live whiting over the side on 7 strand wire trace and 450lb mono. I was not expecting to hook what was a train at full speed, as I was about to loosen the drag!!!

Hahaha!
