blueboatdriver Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Just a quick one. If anyone arrives for the weigh-in at 16:55 and there are 2 or 3 people in the queue in front of them will their fish still count if it takes more than 5 minutes to weigh the earlier fish? Quote
Wedger Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Perhaps there should be a closing time for the queue not the scales ! Quote
blueboatdriver Posted November 23, 2005 Author Report Posted November 23, 2005 If a few people have got several different species to weigh in it could take a while. Quote
Coddy Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 I would have thought that you hand in your registration form as soon as you land and that way you will have registered that you arrived before the cut off time. Thats my thoughts anyway Coddy Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Yes chaps already thought of. It will be the same as in previous years if your in the queue by 5pm you will get to weigh your fish in but be just 1 tick past the 5pm shown on the adjudicators watch and thats if no weigh in for you Martin Quote
Newboy Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 A little off topic, but how does registratipon work for chartered boats? I have some friends fishing with Andy on Silver Spray on Sunday, I tried to get them to take part but they don't know there way round Poole as they are from London. Do the chartered boat have to have all participent named or just the name of boat with number of people? Quote
blueboatdriver Posted November 23, 2005 Author Report Posted November 23, 2005 Martin, You have a PM from me Cheers, Simon. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Do the chartered boat have to have all participent named or just the name of boat with number of people? Kam Charter anglers take part under the same rules as any other participant. One member of the crew can come to the signing in point and fill in the forms and pay the money for others in their party. To speed things up a little they could download entry forms and fill them in prior to the registration. From the quay baiter is not difficult to find. Participants must weigh in their own fish before 5PM Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Martin, You have a PM from me Cheers, Simon. Simon I am taking advice will get back to you asap Martin Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Ammendment to weigh in (I gave duff info ) Fish must be weighed in before 5pm with the competitors original entry slip. That means if the skipper is tied up sorting the boat out a crew member can weigh in on his behalf Martin Quote
Newboy Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Martin, where can I download the form? Quote
Maverick Martin Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Kam Go to our home page and download comp rules which is adjacent to the comp poster. This will give you a complete entry pack Martin Quote
blueboatdriver Posted November 24, 2005 Author Report Posted November 24, 2005 Good answer Martin. Thanks, Simon. Quote
great white Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 hi all just a small bit of advice, the scales will close at 1700 except for those fish in the queue. arrive late and you will not get your fish weighed. Its down to you to calculate the time of return and lines up. Very Very exceptional circumstances may be allowed but do not anticipate any favours. Better to get to the scales early than have a good fish miss the scales Charlie Quote
Swainiac Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 This being my first trip out since breaking the wrist, I think I'll worry about catching a "weigher" before I worry about trolling over to the weigh in!!!!! Rich Quote
duncan Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Charlie, Presume these exceptional circumstances would be more in the area of assisting the coastguard with a casualty than running out of fuel, the engine won't start or beached (al la Maverick a couple of weeks ago)? Always good to have people aware that the committee can make such decisions in exceptional circumstances. Duncan Quote

Duncan Damn, I thought I got away with that one Never mind we caught some flatties and it was a pleasant day waiting for the water to return albiet cold brrrr no heater available on our smalls boat not like you posh lot Martin Quote
great white Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Duncan that was exactly what I meant assisting someone in trouble is exactlye what I had in mind Towing someone who is out of fuel would give us somthing to consider, the towing boat would get an allowance but the boat that did not have enough fuel would not.
