Paul D Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Neo - Not great piccies but it is dark outside Its here and what impresses me is the low profile of the engine and the prop looks huge ! Quote
Newboy Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Can't quite make out the new engine but I'm sure it's a wonderful outboard. Just wait till you get it out on water, bonus is there ain't even a run in period Quote
Paul D Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 You should be able to toggle through the images. ( Admittedly they are not fantastic but you can definitely see the outboard ) Quote
Bob F Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Looks a good physical size match. BF Quote
Newboy Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Still can't see the prop. Need more photos tomorrow daytime. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Is that a scratch I can see on the cowling Very nice only joking you know Martin Quote
Coddy Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Looks nice Paul Hope you are not going to fit hydrofins on it? Might be a tad sensitive at 25kts+ Coddy Quote
Adam F Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Looks great Paul - I agree with Bob - suits Neo well. Bet you cant wait to crank her up! - Youll notice one hell of a differance!! Hope it lives up to all expectations - BTW - how do you know you have the right prop?? I had to change BW's twice before I got the right set up, as the factory one was too large and under pitched. Sam Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 looking good paul cant wait till burnham to see what she can do sam Quote
AlderneyBassman Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Looks great Paul Are you going to run it in a bit or just go for it?? The guy who PDI'd mine said "put it this way, if it was mine I would do 2 hours at no more than 2000rpm" So I did. Almost. Well, couldn't resist a full speed blast after pootling around for an hour and a bit Quote
Nipper Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 it looks very nice paul can't wait to get mine . mark b Quote
Paul D Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Posted February 1, 2006 I probably will run it in a bit ( at least until I get used to how the boat handles - should be 10 mins or so ). Of course I will need to see how many revs it is pulling on WOT just to be sure it is propped correctly The prop is 13.5 X 15 inches which looks huge compared to the one the Honda had, but I note that the E-Tecs have oodles of torque to turn such a large prop. Let testing begin Oh why do I have to work PS: I did discuss about selecting the correct prop - will have to see how it handles with the one it has first. Quote
plaicemat Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 I wouldn't worry too much about the prop looking too big. One or two trips over the bar at Christchurch should sort that out! Quote
Adam F Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Oh why do I have to work ...to pay for a new engine!! Quote
Coddy Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 I had to change BW's twice before I got the right set up, as the factory one was too large and under pitched. Adam Hi Adam What prop did you end up with? Dave Quote
Paul D Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Posted February 1, 2006 Adam, Strangely, Helen disagrees - she says "To keep my wife in the manner to which she has become accustomed" Quote
Adam F Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 ....dont we all! Fishing tokens are expensive things!! Quote
