Adam F Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I am planning a Tope trip over to the West on Thurs of next week. Bob F had originally planned to come but family commitments have put paid it that. Does anyone fancy it? I will still go, just would prefer to have another club boat as a buddy - I only have my brother onboard, so will effectively be going alone if not. Plan would be to leave early, and come in around late afternoon. Anyone? Quote
domino Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Adam, How far west do you go? I've got the week of work and intend get out a couple of times... wind permitting! Whilst not actually a 'club boat'... I wouldn't mind a bit of Tope action, depending how far east I have to travel from Weymouth. Cheers, Alan Quote
Adam F Posted May 31, 2004 Author Report Posted May 31, 2004 Hi, Will be traveling around to Anvil / St Albans. Not too far for you?? Quote
boybilly Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Whippet, Do you live in Weymouth mate or do you just moor here?? BB Quote
Swainiac Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Adam, count me in if you're fishing all day, I'm over on the river again on friday, so will be an early start for me, so best not stop out late!!!!!! Give me a bell, cheers Rich Quote
domino Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Whippet, Do you live in Weymouth mate or do you just moor here?? BB No... I live in Witney (nr. Oxford)... I keep the boat at Ferrybridge boatyard. Quote
Adam F Posted June 1, 2004 Author Report Posted June 1, 2004 Are you going to tag along then Whippet? Quote
domino Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Are you going to tag along then Whippet? It's looking doubtful at the moment... forecast is for W force 4 for Thu pm. I think it would be quite a long (12 miles or so) and lumpy ride back! I have never ventured as far east at St Albans Ledge... I see the chart shows overfalls either side, depending on the tide. I would think that with the tide on the ebb and a westerly wind, that it might not be the best place to be crossing in a 15' boat. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Definately gets hairy across St Albans with wind against tide. I have had some fun times in my 195 over there and theres been other times when I have just turned around and fished our side. Martin Quote
