Adam F
As you may have gathered, I'm planning to fish Anvil on Thurs for ze' Tope. However I am going it alone, and Im not too sure about the conditions, bearing in mind I'm only 16.5' long. 1.) They are massive spring tides 2.) I will be fishing the ebb 3.) The forecast varies from F2 in the am to F5 afternoon depending on who's forecast you look at. What do others think? Last time we had neaps and f1 with glorious sunshine......not too sure about this time? Id really appreciate a view from the regulars who fish around that area. Maverick Martin
Adam Re the weather I would wait until wednseday eve to make a decision . If I were you I wouldnt go that far if the forecast was more than a 3/4 and give it serious consideration if the winds are southerly to easterly. If there is west or north in the wind you can tuck in close for some shelter whilst traveling. If the tides are as big as you say they are the fishing will not be that pleasant, you will struggle to hold bottom with less than a kilo of lead Martin
shytalk
the best of the tope is on the 120ft contour which is about 3 miles south of the light on a spring you will get about an hour either side of slack when fishing is sensible after that get out the sash weights !!!!! Bob F
...and if the Bass aint biting, look for the small rock pinicles just out fromt he bay. We had some cracking pollack drifting over them on Sunday using sandeel-like feathers.
