As usual, it was in front of my nose, but since some kind webmaster suggested you could save the forums page as your favourites, I never look on the front page (sad I know....)

I suspect others are equally inept as me sad.gif

Thanks again

Do we have any weather predictions yet?

Flooding tide all day and a stiff easterly................ dry.gif

Therefore my prediction is..

"You'll need bicycle clips and courtacy buckets around the deck I fear".

Stay safe chaps........ sadly I'll be working again.

Despite the usual dancing around their handbags most of the official predictions seem to be forecasting an easterly with wind speed from 10 to 17 mph. They are all still wrong as the empirical data recorded from my sea weed and pine cone weather station still indicates SE 4-5. wink.gif

WEATHER REPORT

Chaps - I know we've had some rough weekends lately, but this weekend is currently forecast to be similar to the end of this week. The current high pressure system has looked stable for a few days now, and there won't be very much movement in the isobars or fronts. Check out actual conditions tomorrow, and Sunday is likely to be similar.

Latest forecasts are for cold, possibly misty or overcast, and SE3-4 or even E.

Unless this changes appreciably, the comp in ON. If there is a late change, I will announce this on the forum, but I do not anticipate it.

yep - I have due East 13 knots for the next 4 days solid in Poole Bay; not unknown conditions but it may well be more comfortable out of the harbout from 1300h......

life was never easy

having only ever caught 1 flounder in my life - by accident - this looks challenging for me!

Hmmm

This could mean the camera boat I am using and will be taking Spike Spears for a cruise on (10m long and twin shafts) could be staying in the harbour if that is where everyone will be...

I am going to be writing an article about the comp so please could any spectacular (or half decent) catches be called in to me and I'll nip over and take a pic.

...Obviously with the boat I will be on, I won't be able to sneak to any secret marks in the reeds up the Wareham river etc.

Will you be monitoring channel 6? and if so have you a call sign?

I could try "Bessie Vee" but do not want to upset my old mate Spike biggrin.gif

Some shots of the new boat would be appreciated if you get any

Duncan like you we only do accidental floundering but if needs must I suppose we had better give it a go. wink.gif

We shall be on Ch 6, but under the name of Prestige (we will be on a Prestige 32).

I shall be out for an hour or right at the start, but I'll be solo then and it will be to try and get a few pics of boats heading out, if you are going offshore let me know and I'll see if I can get some of Alfresco around Old Harry or maybe passing Brownsea Castle?

If you (or anyone else) see's a 10ish metre flybridge boat behaving a little oddly don't panic too much, it will only be me (OK panic) trying to sneak over for a picture or two.

If you don't want me around, tell me to bu@@er off and I won't take offence, but I shall do my level best not to get in the way at all.

I'll be meeting Spike at about lunchtime and we plan to pop back out for an hour or so then to have a mosey around and hopefully get some pics of fish being caught.

Spike and I should also be at the weigh in later on and then on to the Mariner centre for the prize giving.

I won't be fishing the comp but will probably be out with the boat so will also try and get some photos of the action.

Folks - a front has moved in faster than was originally forecast, squeezing up the isobars, and upping the wind over original expectations. It's not enough to cancel, but all small boat skippers should review carefully and consider implications.
