Brian Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Cycling along Holes Bay today, there was a chap fishing so I stopped to ask if he had any luck? "Yes", he said, then pointed to a pile of fish in the long grass, there must have been about 8 bass, the largest just over 12" the smallest about 5". I (tactfully) pointed out that they were all undersize, he didn't appear to know there is such a thing as a minimum size for taking, just that they would taste nice. Perhaps we should suggest that Southern Sea Fisheries pay for a couple of signs that show the minimum sizes. Might be worth having one by the sipway at Baiter as well. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 He was also fishing in a bass nusery area, if caught could be prosecuted on both counts Martin Quote

petesnr Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Southern Sea Fisheries have always pleaded poverty when approached about signs by PDSA and WEssex NFSA. Sad but true. Quote
