charlieannear Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Is anyone about to give their trailer a bit of TLC? If you need anything from Trailertek I am putting together an order. It needs to be Quote
Jim Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 I could do with a couple of cables for my brakes. Unfortunately, I don't have a part number and now that Indespension have gone, I can't just walk in with my old ones. Jim Quote
charlieannear Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 Yeah, that's what was most useful about Indespension. It almost made up for them being more expensive than web rivals and them never honouring the club discount... Have you replaced the cables before and do you still have the receipt? It should say what they are. Indepsension website (and most others for that matter) good for identifying what you need as well. If you have Knott brakes, I recently got stainless cables from Western Towing (Trailertek may also do them) for less than the price of mild steel ones from Indespension. I'll report back in 12 months as to whether they've lasted any longer! Quote
Jim Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 I think they are Knott Brakes. How much did you pay for Stainless ones ? I probably can't afford it this month anyway. Stainless ones would make sense though. Jim Quote
charlieannear Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 1000mm ones, from Western Towing were Quote

Jim Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Thanks Charlie & Dave. Yep ! They certainly look like the ones. Much cheaper than I thought for Stainless too. I'll have to measure up. Jim Quote
Wedger Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 If you just need plain stainless cable I have a few yards! Quote
Jim Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Thanks Trev, I would not trust my soldering on something as important as brakes, But thanks for the offer anyway. Jim Quote
Wedger Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Personally, I prefer to make a lead union using copper pipe as a jacket. Quote
