Wedger
Hi All, I know Alan H will have an opinion on this too but..... What do you consider to be the best 'daylight viewable' laptop most appropriate to use with PC plotter? Can PC plotter, run on a laptop be interfaced and overlayed with radar? I still haven't taken the plunge but fully intend to when I can possibly make up my mind Cheers T Edited March 11, 2009 by Wedger

Adam F
Seiwa Explorer - http://www.seiwa-marine.com/seiwa_explorer3.htm IMHO the ones that run on a PC only are fine for yachts where you are running slow and have access to a chart table. For our style of boats, the Seiwa explorer is ideal in that it displays on a PC or LCD screen, but has the full functionality of a fixed unit plotter. Jim
Remember, If your boat is likely to bounce around on the waves, then a laptop may not stand the punishment. Jim
Wedger
That's OK Jim, I've nailed mine to the chart table
shytalk
them explorers are very good ive fitted 3 of em now if you get a flat screen tv with dvd player built in you get to plot watch telly and dvds all on the one screen , most of the screens need solid mounting brackets making but are much tougher than laptops, just steer clear of the seiwa/sitex radar its c**p
