Brian Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) Hi Derek On my previous boat I had a "1, Both, 2" switch. I've just fitted a second battery to MegaByte, this time I've used a Voltage Sensitive Relay. This way I've got a "Starting" battery and a "Services" battery (which runs radio, GPS F/F and lights). The advantage is I don't have to remember to switch from one to the other or both. When the engine starts as soon as the altenator voltage rises to 13.7 volts the relay cuts in and both batteries get a charge, when I stop the engine and the voltage drops to 12.8 the relay cuts out. I bought the relay from: Merlin Equipment Ltd Unit 4 Cabot Business Village Holyrood Close Poole BH17 7BA 01202 69 79 79 Edited November 27, 2009 by Brian Quote
