Adam had bust a ring on one of his 12/20 Daiwa Kenzakis and needed a ring to repair it. I was popping in to Bournemouth Fishing Lodge as it's 2 mins from me and asked about repairs. Wayne was helpful and advisef he has a chap who collects rods on the weekend and retuned the following week if the rings are available. He said (taken with pinch of salt) he is as good as original. Yeah right. No, he is better! The repair was immaculate and is the best whipping and varnish on the rod! All for £13. I need say no more, Rob

I have been to Billingsgate a couple of times as a corporate hospitality event - overnight in London, a 6.30am tour of the market (as it is closing!) and then breakfast in the fish school, followed by fish preparation instruction and a three course lunch with wine before departing with a coolbox full of goodies mid afternoon. It’s a great day out (I think around £180 per person), but London accommodation and meals would make it quite expensive in total. I would certainly be up for a trip to Brixham. ian

The also do an excellent fish cooking programme which can include filleting, etc. It does, however, start at about 06.30 with a tour of the market so you would have to be keen. Terry.

Garry (nutty ) also builds custom rods from new or a complete re-firb of old . He is (possibly ) the best in the uk at this time . Give me. PM if you want his direct number ( full re- build take a while so will take far longer )
