.......no I won't. Enginerr/Welder Graham checked it over with me. neither the ebay photo nor gonorns service manual show this second hole. Its a bit rough roundthe edges because it is a sea corrosion hole. luckily Graham is a qualified aluminium welder. If i could get the unit off and back to his shop he could weld the hole up. Gonorm, your workshop manual was invaluable in its description of how to strip the unit off first undo the large crossbar nuts...despite its age they swung undone easily!undo the three bolts on the side of the unit.... they yielded except the last one which sheared undr the head ....knock the sides apart.......reluctantly they wiggled over and after stripping the wiring...out it came. over the Graham's and.. and he worked his magic. now.... hoping the welding hasnt wreaked havoc with seals etc and i can remember how to pput it back together....the weekend project.

Neil, Just polish your wallet and filter your change and save for a couple of pints in Norway🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My boat is kicking up lots of problems and snagging, your not alone😳

Looking out of my office window there is a van in the boatyard cleaning one of our Members fuel tanks Company name CP Fuel Polishing 07716 851901 If all else fails give them a call.

Once you've cleaned it out Neil you might want to put some diesel treatment in the tank as it sounds like it may have had the bug at some time. I've always used " Fuel Set" on mine, had boat for 10 years now and touch wood never had sludge problem even after being in rough conditions.

I had a wife like that ! flattish bottom with expensive running costs.

Having purchased a lovely new to me boat, I’m still to get out and go fishing . So far the vhf radio has packed up and been replaced. Engine has been serviced then developed an oil gasket leak. All the silicone in the deck has been cut out and removed as was leaking through in to the lazarettes . Wednesday I finally managed to find a window to go have a short blast, took a couple of mates and headed off. It was quite choppy so just ended up going for lunch in ocean village instead of cowes. All good on the way there but, half way home the engine dropped revs from 3200 to 2500 then down to 2200 with a WOT speed of just 10knotts . Oh flip I thought!! Turns out the choppy conditions had stirred up a load of sludge from the bottom of the tanks and blocked the filters. Glad it wasn’t anything more terminal but now I need to add having the tanks drained, cleaned and fuel polished to my expanding list of things to do!! Have not been fishing since mid December , really starting to become an annoyance. On the other hand the weather has not been brilliant and I’ve got a tan from holiday !!
