    Day off

We had a couple of days holiday to use. We took today off jobs at home and went into Poole for a " mooch around " It was cold & wet so we went down to the Fisherman Cafe. We ordered our " Fishermans Breackfasts " I noticed they'd named some food after ME ! Clare told me to " Help myself to fishing magazines " Jolly decent I thought. Thanks Mike ! ! ! ! One less tidying job for you. Called into Poole Sea Angling for some supplies and found Frank in there chatting to Andy. When the time comes for me to retire I don't think I'm going to be bored . . . . . . . . . I'm thoroughly enjoying doing S*D ALL ! All I need is some Dosh ! Mike ! ! ! I didn't really take the magazines. I just couldn't resist pulling your leg.

    Road kill analysis

The Police have found a large number of dead crows on the A1081 just outside Harpenden early this morning, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorbikes, while only 2% were killed by cars. The investigators then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorbike kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviourist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "bike" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's a shame Rob that Bass are so rare now!! Well done to you both. I have got the Lure bug now, and I have sent a letter to Santa for a nice Bass rod and a selection of lures for Xmas. I do hope he realises that I've been a good boy!! The thing I like about Lure fishing is that there is no mess of bait on board, and the anticipation of the real screaming off with a decent fish on the end of your line. Once you know where the hot spots are for Bass and you have done your homework on your selection of Lure, then you are certain to catch a decent fish.
