Here's the full press release - RAY BEATS NATIONAL RECORD Club member boats a large small-eyed ray which, when weighed at sea, was heavier than the national record. Chris Witheford, the club's official fish recorder, caught the huge ray on 17th December on a trip out of Poole. The fish was weighed at sea before being released and tipped the scales at 17lb 10oz. Ther ray was photographed in the hands of Oli Drew, a good friend of Chris's It was identified by the team of Dr. Peter Henderson, author of 'Identification Guide to the Inshore Fish of the British Isles' Stuart Cooper Press Officer

Stuck in my engine room trying to fit a diesel heater . Good job I’m not claustrophobic !! And lucky I only put on 5lb over Christmas, otherwise I’d still be there !! Think I put my hip out about 4 times though climbing in and out !!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Circulated a press release and had this bac k from Cliff Brown at Bauermedia Stuart, we’re getting hammered on facebook – no-one believes that is a small-eyed and say it is a blonde ray. We used this in good faith as a press release from PBSBAC and we’re getting the blame!
