  1. Went out to the Black bream mark in the fabulous early conditions. Didn’t find any but did get some dogs and 2 personal best Rays Undulate at 16lb and Spotty at 4.75. Question. My scale does pounds but to me it looks like it then does percentages of lbs? The undulate bounced from 15.98 to 16.28 lbs. The spotted from 4.75 to just under 5 Will be adding the weights to catch reports once you chaps clarify Cheer

Strange weather when we went Plaice fishing on Madness. Quite a few squalls about but none of them hit us.

  3. Those scales are reading in pounds and decimals. to get the ounces then multiply 16 by the decimal so 16 X .98 = 15.7 oz 16 X .28 = 4.9 oz Undulate was between 15lb 15.7oz and 16lb 4.9oz Spotty was 4lb 11.2 oz using weight shown on scales (4.70) Hope that makes sense.

    Birthday greetings Jim

Thanks all for the Birthday wishes. Been working today and NO BEER. Did have a takeaway curry & cake though. Steve & family came over for tea yesterday brandishing beer and a cake that his eldest had made. Not gone short of beer over the past few days so won't hurt to have a day off ! Jackie's gone overboard on the pressies so I'm a very happy old codger.

    Sunday

Was minding my own business on Saturday, Busy painting Hall, Stairs, Landing, Lounge. The aim was work til 1:00 ish then same thing on Sunday. Had a text from Martin to see if I was up for a trip? ( silly question) ! So we carried on all day with decorating. We were both as stiff as planks by tea time. Up early Sunday and left in time for the 08:30 bridge. Headed out on a fresh but beautiful morning. Went over just past the piers to try for a few. Martin was soon into a fish and our expectations were raised! A small Gurnard brought onboard. Then a few very small plaice. We were being blown offshore and moved along the coast as we came back in for another drift. Same thing again on the plaice. Very small. We tried all the way back to Poole with the same results . . . . . very small. I had one of a better size but not quite a keeper. Later in the day Martin Did have a keeper and gave it to me. It was a bitterly cold breeze out there and only the one keeper but it was just SO GOOD to be out again. We came back in the Harbour and tied up in front of Brownsea Castle and it was like a different day! Calm water, Sunshine and no wind. Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuvly. No fish there though Just a lovely cuppa. As always Martin, I thank you for the invite. I had a really great day. The lack of fish doesn't matter ( I'm used to that anyway ) It was just great to be out again. Jim
