    Alderney 2021...

I'll need to book time off work so are we saying 3rd July onward for a trip? I'll book the week off and go when / if a 3 day window allows? It's been years since we did a proper PBSBAC convoy over to Alderney so would be good to get a few boats together - it's the furthest most of us will get this year for a holiday!

    Alderney 2021...

I've booked in my diary and holiday Friday 2nd to Monday 5th July. Fingers very much crossed. After the year we have it will be great to have a fair few boats going over and actually meet some of you again.

    Alderney 2021...

Even though I've only met a couple of guys in passing along f pontoon I'd absolutely love to be involved in going to alderney if any one ever sorts a trip out there! I can chip in with the fuel costs I'm not worried about making tea and I'm hardly ever sea sick unless it's proper rough swell above 2 inches or so 🤣 no only joking ... if there's ever a chance to come out on some ones boat I'd jump at the chance and be part of the crew if needs be . I got a mca boat masters license if that's any help too lol

    3D knot app

There are 2 different knots both called FG. I use the single mono version ending in 7 or 8 half hitches like Charlie. It's really strong and thin. I'm pretty quick tying it now but if I was wrecking for instance and need to re- rig fast I'd use a double grinner/uni. One thing about braid to leader knots they are subject to wear on the braid and it's not always obvious, particularly when using lures. It pays to cut them off and strip back a metre or two of braid and re-tie fairly regularly. It can seem like a waste of time until that is the braid gives way under surprisingly little pressure. This particularly seems to affect whiplash, probably because it is so thin to start with.
